Adobe provides only the latest two versions of the creative cloud apps for download. So for InDesign that would be the 2026 and 2025 versions i.e. version 21 and 20. If you need any other version other than these then you are out of luck. -Manan

You can allow preflight to flag missing fonts on the pasteboard as well. In the Preflight panel open the flyout menu and there you shall see the option "Preflight Options" inside it there is a checkbox to toggle "Object on Pasteboard", check this. Now you shall be notified for a missing font on the objects outside the page. -Manan

If you are talking about in VSCode then this is because ScriptUI is using an old version of ECMA script, which VSCode may be evaluating against the latest standard. ScriptUI has not been updated since long and I don't think it will be except some very hyped up bugs -Manan

Find change would fix the issue but would you know or could guess why the character would be pasted in the first place if the OP mentions it did not happen before? This seems strange behavior @cream__soda which version of InDesign and OS are you using? When you say it did not happen before did you mean copying the same text from the same file and pasting it in the same version of InDesign? -Manan

Hi @casinclaire, 1. For the damaged document thing. Does this happen to all documents or a particular one. 2. Could there be some permission issues causing this? Did you update or install from scratch? Try uninstalling along with removing preferences and then reinstall. Provide full disk access to the application if you are on a MAC 3. Please specify the OS you are using that could help others share their expereinces as well and try your scenarios -Manan

Not sure but it could be an issue with Visual Studio redistributalbe package, Try by repairing. I tried opening your file and to me it seems to be corrupt. What I did was open it in notepad to see the binary content and the difference between your file and other INDD file that opens is the content near the top. All the files that open has the text DOCUMENT somewhere in the first line but your does not have it. This leads me to think that you file has issues due to which InDesign is not able to recognise it. P.S. :- This is my observation. I am in no way any expert on the binary format of INDD files -Manan

Hi @softbricks, I have not installed it myself but got version 20 IDS installed and it did work. The only suggestion I would make is to check if you are using the correct version of the WinOS. If nothing makes sense probably contact technical support via admin console. -Manan

As @leo.r rightly mentioned these are versions that Adobe no longer sells so there is no official way to upgrade to CS6. I am not sure but CS6 activation servers may already be or would soon be taken down going by what happened with previous versions. From Adobe the only offering now are subscription based. -Manan

Ok, so the actual problem statement then would be to identify and tap the correct notification if present. If there is no notification for certain case then more or less we are stuck. I was thinking more on the lines of being self sufficient and not relying on external triggers. Like when the boss class is generated, the constructor of our custom observer implementation would be called as well I suppose. But, calling AutoAttach from constructor and AutoDetach from destructor would not be safe/recommended I suppose. Some similar idea that may work? -Manan
